Apple Releases The New iOS 14 Beta Version
Apple’s WWDC (worldwide developer conference) held on June
22, 2020. It’s the very first time Apple’s developer conference has been
exclusively streamed online with no in-person event. Regardless, there were some
big announcements, including some you might have been expecting and others that
might catch you by surprise. In the event Apple has launched its all new
software for iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS and macOS. Here we will be discussing
about the iOS 14 new looks and features. So, let’s get started.
Home Screen Redesign:
App Library:
Apple introduces “app library” for the very first time. It is
something that will automatically organize your home screen apps. In the iOS 13
it was possible, but you had to do that manually. This year Apple took that
responsibility and done that for you by introducing the app library. It’s a new
space at the end of your home screen pages that automatically organizes all your
apps in one simple and easy-to-navigate view.
Widgets:
Widgets helps us to get information at a glance. This year Apple
took widgets to its next level. They made them more beautiful and data reach
and introducing in different sizes. So that you can choose one that you need. You
will also be able to add widget to your home screen beside the apps, so that
you don’t have to scroll to the widget page.
Picture in picture:
For the very first time Apple is going to introduce picture
in picture feature, where u will be able to minimize a video player and do
other stuffs you need to do. So, while you are playing a video you can swipe to
go home and the video will automatically goes into picture to picture mood. And
when you launce another app like notes, mails or other you can keep watching. This
feature is going to be very useful while using the facetime app or the
messenger app. You can also minimized the video off screen, but it will keep
playing the audio.
Phone:
In the iOS 13 or earlier if you have an incoming it would block your whole home screen UI. which was very painful for the gamers. Bur Apple has fixed that problem in the new iOS 14. Now if you get a call between your task it will pop up in the top of your screen just like a notification.
Siri:
Apple has updated siri to a new version. In iOS 13 or earlier
while using siri your iPhone switched into the full-screen UI, obscuring your
current context. So, this year Apple completely redesigned the siri experience
with a new compact design. It will make tasks like launching apps incredibly
seamless. For example, if you say open safari, siri instantly will pops up on
the screen and will open the safari for you. Or if you ask information like weather,
the result will appear on the top of the screen just like a notification.
Translate:
Apple is introducing a new app called “translate”. It is
designed to be the best and easiest to use app for conversations. And it can
work completely offline, keeping your conversations private. It is using
advanced on-device machine learning and the powerful Neural engine, you can translate
your text and voice between any combination of the given 11 languages.
Messages:
This year Apple is introducing a new way to stay connected
with your most important conversations, giving you a new way to express your
identity with Memoji and making big changes how you communicate with groups. You
can now pin up you most important conversations in the top, so that they never
goes down and you don’t have to find it.
Apple added some new features to create more accurate Memoji
for you. So that you can express your identity in a different way.
They are adding inline replies that let you reply directly
to a specific message. You can view replies in the full conversation or you can
view them as their own thread, so you can focus in on the specific topic. To make
it even more clearly they are introducing ‘mentions’. With mentions you can
just type someone’s name direct a message to them just like Facebook messenger.
Maps:
Apple is adding some new features in its ‘Maps’ app. It will
be more detailed and accurate than before. They have also built an increasable
cycling experience that will help you get around town on your bikle. They are
adding a dedicated cycling option to Maps. Which will allow users to ride their
bike along bike lanes, paths and roads.
EV charge:
We have entered into an era of electronic vehicles like
tesla. So, you will need to know how much charge you have left in your vehicle
and where you will find the next charging station to charge your vehicle up. With
iOS 14, Maps will track your current charge and factor in things like elevation
and weather to automatically add charging stops along your route.
Carplay and car keys:
Over 80% cars around the world now supports the carplay
option of Apple. So, they have brought some changes to this Carplay app like
the wallpaper and interface and connectivity with the car. In addition to that
they rethinking car keys. They’ve been around for over a hundred years, but
they have become big, bulky and ripe for reimagining. They have made a digital
version of car keys. Now you can keep the car keys at home and unlock and start
the car with your iPhone. And the very first car to support this feature will
be the new 2021 BMW 5 series. It uses the NFC, and you just tap to unlock. You can
also remotely share your car keys with your friends and family when you are not
around.
